Birthday Card

Now that I finished the invitations it's time to work on a 80th birthday card. The family asked me to make one card to give her and here is what I came up with. I went with a 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 card. I also wanted to go with my grandma's favorite colour blue and incorporate 80 somehow on the front (it's subtle but it works). I used the Time Well Spent set, pewter jumbo eyelets with matching brads, double stitched purely pomegranite ribbon and went with the cracked glass over the main flower image which was coloured using a blender pen with the matching purely pomegranite ink. I went a little crazy with adding things to this card. I hope everyone will like it as much as the invites.

Valentine's Day

It seems to be a busy time for me to make cards and I needed to come up with another card for Shad. I am actually happy with the way this turned out. I tried Stampin' Up! rub ons for the first time (the little hearts). They are so easy to use and I can't wait to use them again. The colours I used are real red, tempting turquoise, silver, black and white.

Shad's Birthday

Well it is Shad's birthday on the 3rd and I needed to come up with a card for him. I always have a tough time with masculine cards. Here is my first attempt at a card for him. I thought I would post it. I am not so sure about it. If I decide to use it I somehow think my stamping blog is somewhere he doesn't go to often so he shouldn't see it.

A Little Valentine

This is one of the cards I made on Monday night. It was created by Robin. It is so cute and I just love the little butterflies and there sparkling glittered wings. Thanks Robin. Now it's time to go make a birthday and valentine's cards for Shad so stay tuned for more cards.

Make and Take

I had another get together with my fellow SU demonstrators on Monday night and I said I would bring a make and take. I think this was the first time I didn't participate in the swap but I didn't think I would have time with the birthday invitations. Maybe next month.
This is the card I came up with. It features a new set A little Birdie told me. I used purely pomegranite paper, cameo coral, river rock and black card stock. Of course I used my scallop punch, I can't seem to get enough of it. I love it. If you don't have one already you need one. I also did a little paper piercing on the punch and on the cameo coral paper with the jumbo pewter eyelets.

Birthday Invitations

I have to admit I have spent the last week or so working on 40 birthday invitations for my grandma's 80th which is in February. I wanted to make they were just perfect and that sometimes means more time making them but I really like how they turned out. I think if I was to do it again I would probably pick something that required a lot less colouring. I was lucky to have a little help with that. Thanks Shad. The card itself is made with ballet blue, gable green and white cardstock. I used a couple of my new stamps, corner punch, matching grosgrain ribbon. It might be hard to see but I used the spritz tool with the ballet blue marker to add a little more of the blue to the card. I hope everyone will like them as much as I did. The inside I put all the party details and a picture of my grandma when she was 17. I love old pictures.

Happy New Year !!

I can't believe how quickly the holidays went but I enjoyed them. I am now left with a bad cold. I'm starting to get better but it sure is a bad one.

I didn't have any time for stamping but I have a few projects I will be working on this week so stay tuned for new cards with new things from the new catalogue. You can check it out online. I know some of you are waiting for the hard copy which I will be delivering at the end of the week. Sorry about the delay but with being away and sick I haven't had the chance to get them out.

As I haven't got a new card yet to show you I have included a cute picture of Oscar. When we were in Mission for New Years our camera died (we can get it fixed but I can't live without a camera during the holidays) so that gave Shad a chance to pick out a new camera which he has wanted for a while now. It sure takes great photos. I took this picture the night we got back from Mission. Oscar was very happy we were home.

I hope everyone enjoyed there holidays and happy stamping in 2008!
