New Year's Eve

Well it's the end of the year (hard to believe, not sure where the time has gone) and it's time to make those resolutions right. Well I don't usually but I thought I would try at least one...blog more! Let's hope that's an easy one to do. I have lots to share so I thought I would start today.

This was a new project for me which I did for the craft fair. It is an altered notebook. I used a general notebook and covered it in designer paper. Added a Journal (which was typed out in My Digital Studio) with a couple of layers of matching card stock. I also took a spare piece of the designer and cut out 2 of the flowers out and added them as a accent. I then covered the coils with an assortment of ribbons. I love ribbons. Also the back is covered as well in the same designer papers. I did go around the edges of the book once it was dry with a sanding block. It just cleans up the lines.

I hope you have a fun and safe New Years Eve and I wish you all the best (and lots of time to stamp :-)) in 2011 .

Happy Stamping!

Craft Fair

I have had an exciting week. I participated in a craft fair at work on Wednesday and it was a great success. It was a great way to start the season and I will definitely participate again next year.
Here's a picture of my table at the craft fair. Lots of goodies and I am happy to say a lot of them were gone by the end of the day.
I am off to decorate the house and then work on our Christmas cards.

Happy Bearthday Mark

It's Mark's (my brother in law) birthday today and I know I said I would post the card I made but there is a little twist on this. I didn't make the card. I know, I know but Shad said I was busy and said he would do it for me if I wanted him to.Of course I did. His hand made cards make me giggle. He first said he was going to make one from one of my previous classes but decided to venture out.
He used the build a bear big shot die and the martini glass is from the Cheers to You stamp set. I thought it was cute.I just had to share it with you and I hope you like it. He used the Jackpot dsp that featured the poker symbols as that is something Mark likes to do. I have to admit with him upstairs stamping I had to join him for a little bit so I actually ended up making a coordinating gift card holder. I hope Mark liked it.

Lady Bugs

I promise this will be the last of the punch cards for a while. I thought this one is a fun simple card that I think I just might use as my mother's day card for my mom. She likes lady bugs so that works out well. Although I am none to change my mind so you might see another one posted a little closer to mothers day.
I have a busy weekend ahead. It's my brother in laws birthday tomorrow so I will post the card I made for him in the morning. Then my Sunday will be filled with baking for a bake sale I am having at work as a fundraiser for my Relay for Life team. Fingers crossed it's as successful as the last one. Hope you have a great weekend.

Watermelon

We have been pretty lucky in Victoria this week the weather has been great. Warm enough to go without a jacket. Here's hoping it lasts. With the warm weather I have been thinking it's time to start up the barbeque and what goes well at a barbeque but watermelon.

This watermelon card is a quick and easy card. I love the bright colours as well.

I hope you have been able to enjoy the nice day.

What a Hoot!

Well the second event has finished and was a success. Now I have to put on my thinking cap for the next classes in May. I think I have a few new things up my sleeve.

Here is another of the punch cards. I have to say I have a soft spot for the owl. It's just to cute. I also like this one as it would be a great for either a female or male.

Time for a little break and time with my hubby. Have a great weekend everyone and I will be back soon with another card.

Stamp Out Cancer Event

Well I am happy to finally be sharing a card. I have been extremely busy with Relay fundraising events. Tonight I held my second stamp out cancer event and it was a huge success.
This card was one from the first event I held last month that featured animals created with punched out paper. These were very popular but a little time consuming so we made a couple more tonight. Gotta love the monkey. I think it's funny how everyone's monkey seemed to have it's on expression and no 2 were the same. We found that was happening with a few of the other cards as well.
I will share a few more cards with you this weekend but must run and get ready for round 2 of stamp out cancer event that is happening in the morning.

Happy Stamping!

Thanks to everyone who have been attending and supporting my efforts I really appreciate it.

Spring has arrived

I hate to even mention it but it's starting to look like spring in Victoria. These are the cherry blossoms in our front yard. I just love how the entire street is lined with them. I can't believe all the flowers coming up in the front garden too. I hope you are enjoying the flowers as much as I am. Here's hoping this means Spring is just around the corner.

Retirement Card

Just a quick post today but should be back this week with a couple of cards that I will be using at my next class.
I was asked to make a retirement card and it was a real challenge. I don't have to many retirement greetings but thought I would combine these two stamps. Hope she liked it.

The Olympics

Shad and I ventured to Vancouver for the weekend to take in some of the Olympics. We didn't have tickets to any of the events but decided to venture to some of the sites around town. We managed to see the cauldron and of course the rings. They said that they would turn gold every time Canada won a Gold. We should have stayed longer because Canada won a Gold metal not long after we left them.
It was a ton of fun seeing so many people celebrating. I hope everyone enjoyed the games as much as we did.

Sweet Treats

With Valentine's Day just around the corner I thought it would be nice to bring a treat in for my coworkers. I didn't have much time to work on them but wanted to use sweet heart cups. I used the full heart shape punch which makes it a perfect fit for the cups. I think they are so much fun. The only hard part was to decide what to put in them. The cardstock I used was certainly celery, real red and whisper white. The stamped heart image is from a Sweetheart stamp set.
I'm still working on Shad's Valentine's card and a little something for my nieces so I will post them this weekend. I hope your ready for Valentine's Day.

Sorry the image isn't great I just used photo booth but I will take actual pictures of my next Valentine's cards.

Happy Stamping!

Stamp Out Cancer

I will be participating in my third Relay for Life in June and found the perfect way for me to give back with one of my favorite hobbies - Stamping!
I will be hosting 3 Stamp Out Cancer events (1 in March, 1 in April and 1 in May). These are stamping classes I offer with all proceeds going towards my teams (Rose's Buds/Rose's Buds Part 2) fundraising goal for the Relay. We have a big goal this year and I really hope we make it.

Have you participated in the Relay for Life before? My Mom was diagnosed with cancer over 6 years ago and is today a cancer survivor. This is a great way for us to give back and remember how lucky we are to have her with us. It is also the excellent opportunity to remember those we lost to cancer and offer support to those friends and family who are currently fighting there own battles with cancer.

If you are interested in attending a Stamp out cancer class (or all 3) please contact me or if you would like to donate to such a great cause please visit our team page http://relayforlife.kintera.org/faf/search/searchTeamPart.asp?ievent=330307&lis=1&kntae330307=B575B11C512D46A08FC730BBAB10CFFB&team=3628491.

Do you have a reason to walk? Join us. For more information about the Relay visit :http://relayforlife.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=330307&lis=1&kntae330307=B575B11C512D46A08FC730BBAB10CFFB or if you would like to walk with Rose's Buds please contact me for further information.

Thank you for all your support!!

Thanks!

I just don't know where the time has gone. We are at the end of January and I have posted in ages. I hope everyone enjoyed there the holidays and are looking forward to 2010 being a great year.
I have been stamping so I should have a few new cards to share with you over the next couple of weeks and information about what I will be stamping in 2010.

So far this year I have been busy working on wedding invitations for a friends sister and I must say I am glad I have finally finished them. They always take longer to make then you first think. I know I should have a better idea of how much time is needed but it seems to vary each time . I have to admit I did have a mishap with them last weekend. I found a typo as I was on the last 5 so I had to start again. I couldn't believe it. Anyway I managed to get them done. This is a picture of the Thank you cards that match the wedding invites. I used whisper white, black and orchid opulence card stock. I used my big shot to emboss the rose image onto the orchid opulence and the greeting is from Sincere Salutations stamp set.

I'll be back soon. Happy Stamping!!
