A Little Birdie told me

So I needed a card for my cousin who recently got engaged and thought this would be perfect. It has a cute little bird and then it says a little birdie told me... and on the inside you're getting married. Just perfect. This is a set that will be in the new catalogue. I used purely pomegranite, kraft and white paper.

The dogs - funny story

Most of you know Oscar and Annie (our 2 dogs) Well they got into trouble last week which is really nothing new. I am sure I can blame the cats for this one. I think it's a bit of a challenge for Monster and Lily (our cats) to see how they can get the dogs in trouble. Anyway this time it involved oil and let's just say Oscar and Annie were super slick when I got home from work. Well they went and had there hair done on Saturday and the groomer put these little scarfs around there collars with snowman on them and they looked great. I tried to get them to pose on the stairs with them on and standing with the snowman. Not a bad attempt for a picture. They look great and are all nice and soft again. Another great holiday moment to remember.

Bundle of Joy

Seeing that this is a set that is being retired I had to use it for my last get together this month. I have a soft spot for the giraffe but I like the bear as well so I thought I would use that for a change. I thought it would be nice to use it for a birthday card instead of a baby card. What would a card be without designer paper and I used a couple of buttons as the accent.

New Stamp Set

We were lucky enough to receive a new stamp set from the upcoming catalogue. It is a hostess set so the only way you can get it is by hostessing a workshop so keep that in mind if you like it. I have actually used another technique on this card which is wax resist. First I stamped flowers in black on glossy cardstock and then used a crayon (doesn't matter the colour as it will be removed anyway) and choose a few areas on each flower to feature. I then took my brayer and added different colours. I started with the lightest colour to darkest. The last step is to take a tissue and take off the crayon which leaves those areas white. I have also used a white gel pen to accent the flowers in the saying. I love this card and it's so simple. I am using it as a swap this month and I hope everyone likes it as much as I do.

Cracked Class Technique

Well over the past couple of years this seems to be a favorite. It is takes several layers of clear embossing powder and then placed in the freezer for a few minutes and then you take it out and crack it. It looks great and is fun to do. The pattern is different every time. It also features the trees from it's snow time which will be retiring this year. I have used a jumbo eyelet as the accent as well. I have had them for ages and this is the first card I have used them. I can't wait to use them again.

Peek a boo Box

As you know I love to visit other stampers blogs and came across this little project that I had to make. I can't wait to give them to my stamp club and a few of my other stamping friends. The box features one of my favorite things at christmas... snowmen !! There is also a little saying on the inside of the box which you can sort of read in the picture. I'm not going to give the details because some of you haven't received one yet. Happy Stamping!!!

Build a Brad

So I ordered the pewter build a brads and how fun are they. You are probably wondering how they work. In this case I just used my small circle punch and punch out a piece of certainly celery patterned paper. It is then placed on the back and covered with a clear top. It would be a great way to feature a small stamped image like a flower or maybe a snowflake.

Getting Ready for the Holidays and the new catalogue

Ok I have no idea where the time has gone. I can't believe the last time I posted was Halloween and now we are weeks away from Christmas. I can tell you that I am ready for the holidays, made my christmas cards (and mailed them if you can believe that), shopping (2 last things), I am ready for my upcoming class and my swaps are done so there is lots to show you. I will spend some time this week scanning my lastest creations so stay tuned for new samples.

The retiring list is now available so be sure to get your must haves to me before they disappear. The new catalogue will be here in no time and I can't wait.

Happy Stamping!

Happy Halloween

Every year we decorate out front porch for Halloween with a good friend of ours Christine. We try to add something new to the display every year and change things around. We are already planning for next year. We are lucky enough to live in a great neighbourhood with lots of kids and so many people decorate for the occasion.

The other thing we look forward to is the neighourhood is the ghosting. What's ghosting - it's a chance for you to wish your neighbours a Happy Halloween with a few treats. With those treats you give them a picture of a ghost which they put on there front door and a little note asking them to do the same for 2 other neighours who haven't received one yet. With hopes that everyone has a ghost on there door by Halloween. It's quite fun and no one really knows who left them there goodies so there is always a bit of mystery. We were ghosted on Monday and I am not sure who did it but I have a few guesses. I will never say who I left treats for that's for you to figure out.

Have fun trick or treating and have a safe and Happy Halloween.

More Halloween Treats

So along with the spiders we made pumpkin and bat cookies which seem to be the most popular baked treat year after year and we atempted caramel apples. Those were a challenge to make and to eat. I think I would try makingt them again.

Stamp Club - Cake Decorating!!

So I held my monthly stamp club on Sunday and when they tried to leave there was no such luck. The road in and out of our neighburhood was closed because of a gas leak at the rec centre so they were stuck in Sooke. After I made some lunch and to help pass the time they helped me out with a few of my Halloween projects. One being decorating mini spider cupcakes. We managed to decorate about 60 of them. Without there help I would have been decorating them all day. Such talented ladies. Thanks for all your help they have been a hit with everyone. If you want to see more of my pictures from the weekend visit our website http://www.regnier.ca/

Trick or Treat for my Stamp Club

I found a great from a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. What a great treat for Halloween. It uses peppermint patties that are sandwiched between 2 scallop punch pieces of paper. Each one is stamped with a different stamp from the Batty for you stamp set. It would be a great idea for christmas as well.

I finished them off by stacking 4 together and wrapping them together with a piece of pumpkin pie grosgrain ribbon.

The Pumpkin Patch

For the last couple of years we have been going out to the pumpkin patch with my some of my family. It is our chance to find the best pumpkin ever.

We lucked out with perfect weather a tons of pumpkins to pick from. Maia (my niece) helped us pick out several pumpkins that she thought were perfect so we came home with 6 pumpkins which we started to carve on Sunday but I will be carving the last 3 tonight.
The first picture is me with Maia.
The second picture is my husband Shad, me, Maia, my sister Tia and my brother in law Mark.

Big on Christmas

This is my newest Christmas set and I love it. It is hard to see in the picture but the whole image is covered in iridescent ice embossing powder to make it glitter. It also has a little bling with 2 of the rhinestone brads to add more sparkle.
I used the textured certainly celery paper for the centre.

Happy Birthday

Here is a birthday card that my stamp club made on Sunday.

If you pull up on the inside piece it is a where you can hide a nice birthday greeting.

It also features the designer paper and of course my favorite punch.

Busy Weekend

Well I am afraid no card today. I have had a really busy weekend cleaning and trying to organize our house. I did actually work on a couple of Halloween stamping projects tonight so I will take a picture of them as soon as the batteries in the camera are charged. Don't you hate that when you go to use the camera and no power. I hope everyone enjoyed there weekend.

This picture was taken on our trip to Courtenay. I love taking pictures of flowers. They have such great colours. Maybe I try and make a card using these as inspiration.

Pick a Petal

Ever have those weekends there just isn't enough time well that's what happened to me. I was hoping to get a bunch of projects done but it just didn't happen. One being stamping. Maybe one night this week I will get the chance. I did manage to get my yard ready for winter. I am feeling the aches and pains today. It's funny how many muscles you use to dig holes and pull weeds.I'm excited for the flowers to all appear in the spring as long as the deer don't eat all the 100+ bulbs I planted. Enough about that it's back to stamping.

This card was another make n take created by Bev from the September meeting I attended.

It features one of my favorite sets Pick a Petal. I love the bright colours and the faux stitching accent.

Happy Monday Everyone.

Flaky Friends

Here is another of my christmas creations. It uses certainly celery, bravo burgandy and vanilla cardstock. The stamps are from Flaky friends. It also has the new 5/8" grosgrain ribbon in certainly celery.

Snow Wheel

Have I mentioned I love to swap. This card was created by Alison a demonstrator from the mainland. She was able to come over and join us in September for our annual group meeting. She came with great swaps and new stamping ideas. This card features the snow wheel and the snowflake from Season of Joy set from the holiday mini. Thanks Alison.

The Sun is Shining

With the sun shining I thought that this card was perfect. It uses the garden whimsy stamp set. It is stamped in purely pomegranite which is my favorite in colour this year. It also features more of the fantastic designer papers and double stitched ribbon. Thanks to Bev for such a great design.
I better get back outside to finish preparing my garden for the winter. Why does there have to be so many weeds.

Thinking about Halloween

With the turkey all done it's time to start thinking of Halloween. I love Halloween. I am lucky enough to be in a neighbourhood with lots of kids so I have many witches and ghosts come to visit. We love to decorate the front porch for the occasion and lots of pumpkins.

To get me started with my halloween projects I thought I would try another card. It's similar to my other card but features designer paper on the top and bottom. I also added a little bit of pumpkin grosgrain ribbon. The stamp is from Batty for you. This is tha kind of spider that I can handle.

More Birthdays

I have a few birthdays coming up so I thought was time to come up with a quick card. This is one of my favorite birthday sets. I think it's called it's party time.... might be wrong I will have to check . I have used the markers to get the different colours for the cake & plate and then the candles. It also has a couple of eyelets to accent the orange slit punched piece. It's bright colours which are a nice change for the dark days of fall.

Getting ready for Thanksgiving

As I am ready getting for my family to come for dinner on Saturday night I wanted to share another card for the occasion . This card was designed bu Melanie and I was lucky enough to make it at our stamp day. It features the new in colour Wild Wasabi and the double stiched ribbin. It's hard to see but there is the background stamp using Sanded. It is one that I can't wait to add to my collection.I hope everyone enjoys there turkey dinner, pumpkin pie and a little quality time with there loved ones. Happy Thanksgiving.

Thursday, October 4, 2007

A little note of thanks.

So I thought I would give dry embossing a try . Then it turned out to be a debossing project ( I think that's what it's called) I embossed the flowers and then instead of using the side that was raised I turned it over and stamped the canvas background stamp over it leaving the flowers appearing. I then punched sage shadow circles to make the centre of the flowers. I have to say my favorite accessorie right now is the scallop punch. It is a great way to accent your sentiment and this case it says thanks. The circle punched work well creating the centre.

Thinking of Christmas

I held my first Christmas card class over the weekend. I think this was my favorite creation on Sunday. It features one of the stamps in the Tags for All set from the holiday mini. I have a soft spot for snowman. They are so cute. It also uses the new colour basic grey and the matching taffeta ribbon. I also added a little accent of dazzling diamond glitter on the snow which is not so easy to see.

Techniques Swap

As you know I participated in a two swaps this weekend. One of the swaps was a technique swap. My technique was wax paper resist. This is shown in the piece at the top of the card. I will also be featuring a few other cards I received so check back soon for more inspiration.

Give Thanks

With Thanksgiving a few days away why not send a card to celebrate.
This card features the Artfully Asian, All in a Row and Holiday & Wishes stamp sets.
I used the pumpkin patch spectrum pad to get the beautiful background for the leaves. It is a great way to get the wonderful colours of fall. The card itself is more mustard cardstock. I used the aidacloth background stamp in the same colour to add a little texture but it's hard to see in the picture. Let's not forget the chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon. I love ribbon. I hope everyone enjoys there turkey dinners this weekend. I can't wait to have the family to the house for dinner and games.

What a Weekend !!!

So I had a very busy stamping weekend. Saturday I attended an all day stamp event with some of my fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators. Wow.That is the only way to describe the day. It was so much fun. I participated in two swaps and there were also 10 make and takes. So I have lots of new samples and inspiration for my next projects. On Sunday I held a Christmas card class and stamp club where more creativity came out. Thanks to everyone who participated and made this weekends events successful.
With this all going on I was unable to get to scanning my cards but I have made some time to do that tonight. I hope everyone had an exciting and busy weekend like me.
Thanks for being patient. Check back again soon for card samples.
Happy stamping!!

It's been a long time.

I can't believe how long it's been since I posted anything. How horrible am I.It was summer when I last posted and now it's officially fall. What happened to summer. I must admit I really haven't had much time for stamping. Even when I have wanted to I have had a bit of a block when it comes to creating cards. I am now thinking the block is gone after a few cards I created this week. Although my summer was filled with many other projects. We successfully built a fence and I spent time working in the garden. Shad and I even managed a little getaway to Courtenay. You can check out our summer pictures at our website http://www.regnier.ca/
This week I have been preparing for our annual group stamp day which is this Saturday and projects for Sundays Christmas card class. This means I will be posting a bunch of new cards over the next few days.
Thanks for being patient and I promise there will be new samples up starting tomorrow.

Rose's Buds

Only 3 more days until I participate in the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life. With the help of Bev and Terry we were able to add a special touch to our teams tshirts. We used iron on transfers which we first printed the team name and then stamped a rose from the Roses in Winter stamp set in craft ink. I really like the way they turned out.

If you would like to make a donation to our team please visit www.cancer.ca I would also like to thank everyone who have contributed to the Rose's Buds team. You have made a difference in the battle against cancer.

More Birthday cards

I also received cards from Stacey and Trudi. What wonderful cards. I love handmade cards. Thanks everyone.

I'm 30!

I turned 30 yesterday and I had a fantastic day with my friends and family. I always look forward to seeing what wonderful card creations I receive. I think the best part is to see what Shad comes up with. This year he did really well. He actually was asking if I had received my new set called Zoofari(which is available in the new catalogue) because he wanted to include the monkey as I had mentioned it a few times. It arrived on Friday afternoon. Just in time for his card making.
As I was at Bev's we had to call ask Shad a few computer questions and then the challenge was on between him and Bev.Who would come up with the best card. I just had to giggle. Anyway I have to say I love both my cards equally as each one is special. Bev's card features two techniques polished stone and faux metal.
Thanks for the wonderful work.

Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life

I volunteered at the Relay for Life in the Western Communitees on June 1 and it was an inspiring evening. I volunteered in the kids zone where I helped kids make cards which I prepared so they got to colour and assemble. It was great to see how thoughtful the kids are. They were doing such a great job. I can't wait to do it again on the 15th.I will be participating and volunteering for the event on the 15th. I also wanted to thank Kristine and Bev who came out and helped me with the event on the 1st. I was able to take a few pictures of the event which I wanted to share with you. If you haven't had the chance to be part of such a great cause I encourage you to participate or volunteer a few hours of your time. It is something I think everyone should experience. Over the last several weeks I have met some amazing people at the cancer society and what a great organization to work with.
If you would like more information about the event or the Canadian Cancer Society I would love to talk to you.

My creations for my swap on Monday

This first card features one of the techniques I will be featuring at my next techniques class. The baby wipe technique.
The second card features onboard accents. It is a great way to at dimension to a card.

Swaps

Here are a few of the wonderful swaps I received on Monday I must give credit to Alicia and Melanie for these great cards. Both are perfect for a male cards. I am always looking for new ideas for those.

We don't have long to wait now for the new catalogue. I will have a few more samples next week featuring a few of the sets that will be in the new catalogue and were featured in the Fall Preview which some of you saw on Saturday.
